During the November - April dry season Guatemala's climate generally makes for easy travelling. Daytime temperatures below 900m average a warm 21-27C, a mild 16-21C up to 1,500m, and a cool 10-16C in the highlands above that.
There are plenty of sunny days in the dry season, with blue skies and clear air for lovely views of Guatemala's volcanoes.
Generally, the rainier months from May to October experience more cloudy days along with occasional rain in the early months, with heavier rainfall towards the end. In some years tropical storms, some having earlier been categorised as hurricanes, cross the Caribbean to arrive in Guatemala in September and October.
Each of the tour designs shown here includes helpful climate information including temperatures and rainfall along the route at each month of the year.
