Things to do
There are several self-guided attractions available at Hacienda Baru, including visiting the butterfly garden, the orchid garden, the bird watching tower and numerous nature trails in the grounds in the hacienda. Other activities away from the property include guided nature walks, guided bird watching, canopy tours and zip-lining.
Accommodation
There are 6 pool view Superior Rooms, all with a king and single size bed and a bathroom with hot water. There is a safe in all of the rooms and a front porch.
4 Superior cabins have 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with one double and one single bed. There is a living room (where another bed can be added if needed), a screened porch, a kitchenette and ceiling fans in all rooms.
2 Economy cabins each have three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, screened porch and a kitchenette. There are doubles beds in two of the rooms and a single bed in the third. Again an extra bed can be put into the living room if needed.
Food
The restaurant 'El Ceibo' has a menu of primarily typical Costa Rican food, but does offer alternatives for those who want a break from rice and beans. It is an open air restaurant. Other restaurants would be a drive away.
Facilities
Facilities include a swimming pool, which uses an ozone purification system, a gift shop and a restaurant.
Childcare
Children are welcome at Hacienda Baru.
