Travel insurance
Travel insurance is a vital aspect to booking a holiday, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances that could spoil your trip.
Everyone who travels with us must have adequate travel insurance. By insisting on this, our local guides and partners can act quickly on your behalf in any emergency knowing that local expenses will be covered.
It is important that you purchase travel insurance at the time that you make your booking. It should cover the full cost of your holiday (including international flights). Make sure the cover you buy properly covers your participation in the activities you might go in for during your trip (horse-riders, surfers, etc please note!).
There are now several policies available which cover natural disasters (including volcanic ash clouds) and strikes and airport closures announced after your holiday is booked. Sometimes there is a small additional premium for this extra protection. You must provide us with details of your travel insurance with your final payment.
Cuba
If you are travelling to Cuba you must be able to provide proof of travel insurance and medical insurance when you arrive in the country.
Be careful: some insurers exclude cover for Cuba (perhaps because they are US-based and subject to the US embargo against Cuba). Be sure to read the small print of your proposed policy very carefully, even policies that say they cover ‘North America and the Caribbean’ may exclude Cuba in the small print.
