Panama City
Day 1 Arrive in Panama City and transfer to the Canal House in Casco Viejo, an atmospheric colonial area being restored.
Day 2 B A free day to recover from your flight and enjoy the sights and sounds of the area. There are some great bars and restaurants. Salsa star Rubén Blades, Panama’s Minister of Tourism, has a fine house here.
Pacific Coast Retreat
Day 3 B Fly to David in western Panama and transfer by road and boat to Isla Boca Brava and your lodge, Cala Mia. This beautiful solar-powered eco-lodge has 11 cabañas all within 10 metres of the Pacific on the tip of the island in the national park.
Day 4 - 5 B Two free days to relax on the lovely beach, or take optional tours visiting nearby islands, beaches and mangroves. There is a spa, yoga area and 180° freshwater infinity pool.
Day 6 B Return by air from David to Panama City to stay at Hotel Bristol in the downtown area. Enjoy a night out in this sleek cosmopolitan city.
Caribbean Coast Retreat
Day 7 BD A morning’s drive to Mirama Pier on the Caribbean coast and then by boat to Coral Lodge on the edge of the San Blas islands in Kuna Yala.
Here you stay in one of six spacious stilted cabins over the water. The setting is pristine with beach views against a backdrop of virgin forest.
Cabins have a/c, a sitting room, a sun-deck with hammocks, and Jacuzzi with wide views.
Day 8 - 10 BLD Three free days to relax by the Caribbean. Local options include diving, snorkelling, horse riding, kayaking or hiking, or a visit to Kuna communities.
Day 11 B You are returned by road to Panama City for your final night at Hotel Bristol.
Day 12 B Transfer to the airport for flights home.
