There are two international airports: Quito in the Andes in the north and Guayaquil at sea level in the south of the Pacific coast. Most international airlines travelling to Ecuador serve both cities in a triangular pattern. The sequence in which they touchdown in Quito and Guayaquil varies. It is possible to purchase open-jaw tickets in to one city, home from the other if you wish.
