How to find out more

To find out more about one of our small group birdwatching trips, please call or write for its trip dossier. Trip dossiers give more information than we can include in a brochure. They also give advice on what to pack, etc. Please call us if you would like to talk through the trip or if you have any questions.

Please remember that travel conditions in Latin America and the Caribbean can change frequently and the details given on this website may not be completely up-to-date.

How to book

1. Telephone or email us to check availability and price.

You can reserve a place for 3 days, and we can advise you about international flights at the same time.

We will confirm availability by return email usually within a few hours.

2. Complete and sign the booking form

To accept a booking we must receive a signed copy of our booking form, which is included in the brochure insert. We can post this to you, or you can download a copy. Print it, fill it in, sign it and send it to us:

enclosing payment, which should be:

EITHER: if you are booking less than 8 weeks in advance: the full amount of both the tour price and any airline tickets we are arranging for you. We will confirm your booking in writing, normally within 3-5 days.

OR: if you are booking 8 weeks or more in advance: a tour deposit of £250 per person and a flight deposit of £75 per person (if you wish us to arrange your flight), which forms part of your payment. We will confirm your booking in writing, normally within 3-5 days, and send you an invoice for the balance with the due date by which it must be paid (normally 8 weeks before the start of your trip).

When to book

Please book your Geodyssey trip as early as you can, preferably at least 6 weeks in advance.

Booking your international flight

You don't have to book your international flights with Geodyssey (see 'Flights').

If you are booking with another firm then it makes sense to book with one who will hold an option for you until the departure confirmation date, 4 weeks before the tour starts, just in case the tour cannot run.

Single supplements (and how to avoid them)

Our standard prices for small group trips are per person based on two adults sharing twin-bed rooms where applicable. If you are joining as a single then the single supplement covers the extra cost of single occupancy levied by the hotel.

If you would like to share you can avoid this extra cost if there is another person in the group of the same sex who would also like to share. We make the arrangements in advance and refund the single supplement to you both.

Joining the tour

Our small group trips start in the evening of Day 1 at our chosen hotel. If you are arriving that day by international flight we will arrange to meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel at no extra charge. Otherwise we will send you full directions on how to get to the hotel with your final joining instructions.
